Dear Mrs Moodley and Mrs Carter
Room 11 had a fantastic time over there. We all got a bit nervous just before we got to room 6. It was fun socialising with your kids. I froze when you said we were going to the music room. Mrs Carter I enjoyed playing a ukulele. I was playing it like a crazy person. I lost count of the songs we played but it was awesome. I wish that we could come back again.
Yours sincerely
Chase

Netbook Reflection 2012
Netbook Reflection 2012
The netbook has been great because it has been helpful to me. Instead of writing in my books I type on my netbook. On the netbook I have been learning to post my writing into my blog.
I can even fix my mistakes easily with the dictionary. My netbook has wireless internet. The things that have been distracting me was things that pop up. The netbook is easy to understand. I can go on the maths site to learn my maths.
I can visit other peoples blogs and comment on it. The next goal is to get lots of post on my blog.

Fearless Chase
walt: write a story in sequence
Fearless Chase
Today is the big jump in space. It is at 5 o’clock in the morning and Chase is going to make the biggest jump from space to earth. He is going to take a capsule to space for the biggest moment of his life. He has Mission control which is also called Temu people. They are telling Chase what to do when he gets to space.
Temus people said “are you ready to jump?”. “Yes” said Chase. Then he jumped. He was very terrified. He had butterflies flying around in his stomach. He was about to scream. But he knew that he wanted to break the sound barrier. He couldn’t see the ground because the cloud was blocking the view. His visor started to become foggy. He couldn’t see with the fog in his way.
The fog went away and he could finally see again. He could see the ground. He quickly pulled his rip cord as strong as he could and it opened perfectly. He landed safely in the Cook Islands. He was the first man to break the sound barrier. He is a daredevil and he has a new name called Fearless Chase.
The theme of the story is never to be afraid just face your fears and try your best.
Chase your idea of using the Cook Islands is fantastic.

Olympic Values
I learned about Olympic Values. My Olympic Value is Determination. I think Kiwi, Karen Hanlen, the MTB cyclist showed the greatest determination in the 2012 Olympics. The next value I would like to study Excellence.

Food and Culture
Walt: write a report
Food and Culture
Food is important to Pacific Island people because if there was no food they would not survive.
Taro has more carbohydrate than potatoes. Taro came from Hawaii because the early Polynesians brought
the taro to the Pacific Islands. Taro is good for babies. It is a staple diet of the Pacific Islands.
Taro grows very well on mountains and close to the sea. Taro is a root vegetable.
I think we should use taro in an energy drink because it has carbohydrates.
The early Maori settlers came from central South America. They brought kumara to New Zealand.
Kumara grows in fertile soil. It has more carbohydrate than potatoes. Kumara was the staple diet for Maori.
I think everybody should eat kumara.

Huge Thanks to My Parents
Dear Parents
Thank you for paying for my netbook.
The netbook is going to help me learn new things. I was excited when I got my netbook. I was getting tired of writing in books. Now I have a netbook I don’t have to write again, I can just type.
I am extremely happy to have my own netbook. I am more interested in division, addition, subtraction and multiplication because it has harder online activities. My writing is almost getting better and also my spelling.
You are the best parents ever.
Your son
