Muffin Design

          What’s in a muffin?      ___________________


Our school encourages students to eat healthily. Investigate the making of muffins, then design a more healthy option to be considered for sale at the fundraiser for the SPCA at the end of term. Consider people who are allergic to certain products when including new ingredients into your recipe.

My observation of the demonstration


Basic recipe: techniques / sequence


My Class used:
  • Cocoa instead of chocolate
  • Less sugar
  • ½cup of wholemeal flour
  • ½cup of standard white flour
  • Fruit


  • Mix thry and wet ingredients together.
  • Mix all ingredients well and don’t mix it for too long.
  • Cook it on the right temperature
  • Don’t leave it in the oven for too long


My suggested recipe


Reasons for the changes


  • Blue berry muffins.
  • Chocolate muffins.
  • Banana Muffins.
  • Apricot Muffins.

  • To make a healthy muffin.
  • To help people stay healthy.
  • Don’t make people fat.
  • Making your own recipe.
